The Carlson Family

Family Portrait Session
August, 16, 2009
Safety Harbor, FL

Meet the Carlson family! We've Got Dain, Kasie, Skyler, McKenzie, and Tessa! I just think the Carlson's are awesome! I met Kasie through babysitting and loooove to watch her girls. They are SO sweet and fun :) This shoot was a lot of fun, yet challenging haha. I haven't photographed children in a while, and I forgot how difficult it can be! Despite the challenges, I think we got it.

Also, you should check out Kasie's business, Bellies and Babies. She is a Doula and specializes in natural healing. She is very knowledgeable and I personally love her natural views on things. You should also take a look at her blog, especially if you have children. She discusses everything from ear infections to breastfeeding. It is very informative :)

Well, enjoy the pics :)

Love all the expressions going on here...

Tessa had some great facial expressions!
Sweet, Sweet Skyler
This is the best portrait I got of McKenzie. She was always doing her own thing haha

Poor Tessa didn't like the grass itching her skin

It was actually Dain and Kasie's anniversary!

They were done.
This was fun...until McKenzie fell and scraped her knee :(

Thanks for a fun day Carlson Family! See you soon :)

Liz

Senior Portrait Session
August 19, 2009
Tarpon Springs, FL

I met Liz and her mom through my sister. Liz saw some senior portraits I did of Lindsay and wanted to schedule a session with me. We decided on downtown Tarpon because there are a lot of different locations all within walking distance so it's perfect for lots of variety. Liz's mom, Kim, is such a sweetheart and I really enjoyed working with both of them. I also got to meet Liz's boyfriend, Tyler, and the last few pictures are of the two of them together. Enjoy :)

Jamie::Abed

Engagement Session
August 16, 2009
Tampa, FL

I met Jamie through my involvement with Fit Kids Playground. I was the photographer for the event and actually never posted my pictures on here! If you check out the link, some of my pictures can be seen on the sideshow on the website. Anyway, at the time, Jamie was working for the Tampa Tribune. We got in contact with one another because she published some of my photos in the newspaper :) We got to talking and she was in need of a wedding photographer. She and Abed have a unique story because she actually met him while working for the Peace Corps in Morocco. Even with the language barrier, they fell in love, and got married! They got married in Morocco and now they are having their second wedding here in America. Their wedding is this February so keep an eye out for those photos :)

Renee::Isaac

Wedding
July 5, 2009
Williamsport, Pennsylvania

Let's see, where to begin? Well, Renee and I went to college together at FSU (yeah!) and met in our college ministry, Chi Alpha. Renee was known for throwing some of the best dance parties Chi Alpha has ever seen...seriously, they were awesome! Renee contacted me while I was backpacking through Europe, Paris to be exact, and asked me to photograph her wedding. I was so ecstatic! As you look through these photos you'll see why...Renee is absolutely gorgeous! But it wasn't all about her physical beauty haha, Renee is so genuine and laid back, I just knew it was going to be a wonderful wedding. Plus, I love traveling and any excuse to see a new place is okay by me ;)

Now, I must tell you that this wedding was by far one of the best weddings I have ever gone to. It really is hard for me to explain, but there truly was so much authentic love between this couple, I was in awe. It went beyond the usual ways I see love at most weddings, it was just something I sensed in my very core, and I was moved by this. The way Isaac looked at Renee when we were taking pictures was simply breathtaking. With one glance he showed his complete and utter admiration for his new bride. It reaffirmed in me that love/marriage can and should be like this! Renee and Isaac encouraged me and for that I am forever grateful. It was a wonderful experience and as I told Renee, "I went to Pennsylvania to photograph your wedding and came back home with much more".

I really hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do. Renee and Isaac are beautiful people inside and out and it was my honor to be a part of their very special wedding day :)

Renee awoke on her wedding day with a special, hand-made treasure map waiting for her!
It was a beautiful day, no humidity or heat! The grass was SO green!
All the girls followed Renee to find little love notes Isaac had hidden around the yard

So cute!
Renee's ring does not have a diamond because of the blood diamonds in Africa. Instead, her ring says, "I am the diamond found in Christ" (I hope I got that right, Renee!)
It was a very laid back morning and we all spent some time relaxing in a beautiful house with a beautiful yard, with a beautiful view.....etc, etc, etc. It was pretty near perfect ;)

I like their patriotism :)

The wonderful house all the girls stayed in!

Renee was so laid back and let us VERY carefully hang her dress outside haha

Whitney might kill me for putting this picture up, but I really like it. It's always fun to see a photographer in action and this is just a cool shot. P.S. - in case you didn't catch on yet, Whitney went with me to photograph the wedding. So nice of her :) P.P.S. - We don't wear this to photograph weddings. We had just woken up and got some shots done in our PJ's before the real festivities began.

Renee and Isaac went to Jamaica on their honeymoon. Whit gave Renee 100 in Jamaican money. That's roughly equivalent to $1.00 haha!
The things girls have to do for beauty

Love it!

I absolutely loved these jars! I want some for my house

The cake was frozen and really hard to cut haha!

So, she didn't catch it, but she is the next to get married! Woohoo! Be looking for pictures of her wedding in the next couple months :)

Everyone seriously danced the night away...even when it was pitch dark outside! This is my favorite dancing picture from the night :)

I will end with this...Isaac's amazing acrobatics that he decided to do once no one could see him! I can't express how dark it was out there. There were no street lights or anything, just some flashing colored lights from the DJ. I'm lucky I got this shot haha...
